About Us
Ashok Trust is a compassionate, Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges, helping them thrive with dignity and purpose. Our work is rooted in providing specialized care that goes beyond basic support, focusing on tailored solutions that promote each person’s growth and well-being. We serve children and adults in need, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, by offering accessible programs in education, mental health, and daily life skills to enable them to lead more independent lives.
Our organization prioritizes breaking down the barriers that isolate individuals with disabilities, fostering an inclusive environment where each individual is celebrated for their unique strengths. From companionship initiatives that alleviate loneliness to financial aid for specialized schooling, Ashok Trust aims to enrich the lives of people with learning disabilities and developmental challenges by connecting them with the resources they need to flourish. We work tirelessly to empower families and caregivers, recognizing the importance of respite care that sustains their invaluable dedication and relieves them from daily caregiving duties.
With a focus on building a supportive network, Ashok Trust strives to bridge societal gaps and inspire hope in every community we touch. We envision a world where kindness, respect, and accessibility are the norms, nurturing communities that uplift every individual’s potential. Through continuous fundraising, program development, and community engagement, we’re fostering a positive impact that extends beyond individuals, reaching families, caregivers, and society as a whole.

Story Behind the Vision
In the heart of every remarkable initiative is a story, a driving force that propels it forward. Meet Mr. San Mahajan, the visionary founder of Ashok Trust. His journey began not from a place of privilege but from a profound personal experience.
Mr. San’s brother, now a 30 year old with Down’s Syndrome, ignited the spark that led to the creation of Ashok Trust. The challenges faced by his own family as caregivers for a loved one with a disability opened his eyes to a stark reality. He intimately understands the trials, the hurdles, and the relentless struggle to secure the necessary resources for individuals with specific needs.
With this empathy and first-hand knowledge, Ashok Trust was born. Our mission is clear: to provide a lifeline to children and adults with mental and developmental disabilities who often find themselves unable to fit into mainstream educational systems. We don’t just advocate for inclusion; we actively champion it.
We are here not just to educate but to empower, to nurture the unique potential of every individual under our care. Ashok Trust extends its compassionate support to economically challenged families across India. These families bear a dual burden, grappling with both financial constraints and the dearth of resources for their special needs members. We pledge to assist in every way possible, whether it’s through education, training, therapy, respite care, or psycho-social support.
Our vision is not grandiose; it’s deeply rooted in the belief that change begins with small, deliberate steps. We aspire to bloom into a fully equipped support system for families in need. By nurturing dreams and fostering a community where every individual, regardless of their abilities or economic status, has the chance to thrive, we aim to create a more inclusive and understanding society.
Join us as we take those initial small steps and embark on this extraordinary journey.
Together, we can transform the lives of countless individuals, proving that with unwavering dedication, every dream can take root and flourish. Ashok Trust is not just an organization; it’s a testament to fostering hope, bringing smiles and empowering lives.
